Objectives

The Healthy Life project raised awareness about mental health issues that were specific to the COVID-19 pandemic and help young people understand the importance of physical and stress-reducing activities for a healthier life, from both mental and physical perspectives. To achieve this, we utilized interactive non-formal education methods in a multicultural context and organized various practical activities, such as hiking, outdoor team sports, yoga, meditation, and laughter therapy. Through these activities, we created a safe and inclusive environment for young people to share their experiences and learn from each other. We also provided them with practical tools and techniques to help manage stress and improve their mental and physical wellbeing. By the end of the project, we had equipped the participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to lead healthier and happier lives. The objectives of the Healthy Life project were as follows: To increase awareness about the mental health issues associated with the COVID-19 pandemic and help generate solutions through small but effective behavioral changes for the 60 young people participating during the 11 activity days. To involve the 60 young people in practical learning activities, including physical activities such as hiking, outdoor team sports, zip-lining, and canoeing, as well as mental activities such as yoga, meditation, and laughter therapy. A total of 8 methods were used during the 11 activity days. To inform 60 young people from each of the communities of the project partners about the importance of understanding mental health issues during the pandemic and the significance of creating good habits such as meditation, sports, and yoga, through local events organized by the young participants and supported by the partner organizations. To develop four tools for promoting a healthy lifestyle on social media platforms, including one TikTok account, one Facebook page, one Instagram account, and one WordPress blog. The target was to reach 5,000 young people in total.
