The main aim of the Youth Exchange was to explore the benefits of volunteerism and how it can be used as a tool for building and developing skills, as well as, as a tool for fighting social exclusion. The supporting objectives of the project were: ● highlighting positive benefits of volunteering for the volunteers themselves, for the communities, and the world in general. ● developing new knowledge and skills useful in achieving social and personal changes through volunteering. ● empowering the exchange of voluntary experiences and opportunities among young people. ● promoting active citizenship, social responsibility as well as social inclusion. ● promoting the Erasmus+ Programme, the European Solidarity Corps (ESC), Erasmus Internship, and non-formal education in general. ● strengthening the respect for cultural diversity and increasing participants’ intercultural competencies. ● promoting social inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities, especially the ones facing social, economic, and geographical obstacles. ● empowering young people by promoting volunteering and actively participating in their local communities through organizing local initiatives. ● engaging socially excluded groups of young people to participate in local voluntary initiatives.
