Objectives

By implementing the project, we wanted to achieve several goals. First of all, we wanted to contribute to the internationalization of our school with all the planned international activities. We wanted to strengthen its international dimension, establish contacts for future international cooperation and increase the school's reputation so that European educational institutions recognize us as a reliable and trustworthy partner. By carrying out group mobility of school pupils we wanted to increase our students' awareness of the importance of environmental protection and to help them develop a long-term sense of responsibility for the surrounding natural resources. Finally, by sending employees to structured training courses abroad, we wanted to strengthen the professional competencies of the school's managers and professionals and thereby contribute to improving the quality of the learning process.

Background

Our primary school Osnovna Šola Franceta Bevka Tolmin consists of the main school in Tolmin, the branch schools in Volče and Kamno, and the branch school for the education and training of children with special needs. We are currently successfully cooperating in several national projects: the Eco School, the Cultural School and the Healthy School, and we are also proud of our status as a candidate for inclusion in the UNESCO network of schools. We want to add an international dimension to our institution, and it is in the European Union's Erasmus+ program that we recognized the opportunity to effectively address our needs through international cooperation and successfully pursue the goals we have set for ourselves. We designed the project "Using new knowledge to enrich the learning experience", with which we wanted to put our school on the European map of educational institutions and enable employees and students to grow personally through various activities, make new contacts, overcome possible prejudices, strengthen their competences, develop their intercultural and interlinguistic awareness and acquire knowledge, experience and skills with which they can effectively and long-term enrich the learning experience.
