We wanted to improve the quality of learning process and to follow intuitive learning environments of modern school. This global aim is written in our school documents, Načrt razvoja and Letni delovni načrt. We focused on our students and our teachers. We tried to enhance team work and support professional development by peer observations. Outdoor activities are planned for all students - including students with special educational needs. DTC is not mandatory. We wanted to improve students’ motivation for learning, especially learning foreign languages.
In our organisation we follow the aims of contemporary education. We empower students to actively gain theoretical knowledge and practical skills. This project helped us develop intuitive learning environment and make students active learners. We tried to motivate our students even more. We wanted to collaborate with a school abroad that had similar aims. Some of our students, who were involved in this project, were from lower socioeconomic backgrounds. Mobility offered us – the teachers and the students – the opportunity to get to know other countries, cultures and languages, different learning strategies and co-learning. We wanted to upgrade our learning process with outdoor leaning and outdoor activities in connection with digital technologies in the classroom (DTC). We tried to improve team work, collaboration and learning abroad. We have been developing communication strategies especially when using foreign languages. Our students learn English as a foreign language. This project gave our students opportunities to use English and to get to know other (foreign) teens’ language.
