The three main aims of our project: - To implement new ways of outdoor education and therefore improve basic motoric skills of the whole body and improve students’ concentration, - To implement the use of our outdoor classroom and to gain some knowledge and examples of good practise about outdoor education, - To organise workshops about techniques of mediation and yoga and therefore create natural learning environment which positively affects the whole school community, increases students’ motivation for learning and improves learning.
JVIZ l. OŠ Rogaška Slatina is a primary school in the suburbs of the town Rogaška Slatina. Its location offers plenty of opportunities for outdoor education. Unfortunately, we do not include outdoor education in our teaching enough. Before our project began, our school started with the construction of an outdoor classroom, which hasn’t been completely finished yet and therefore not been put to use yet. Partially, we started using it during our project. Participants of this project learned a lot of new knowledge and skills of how to organise a class outdoors (in the forest or by the water). We have becomemore confident when organising and implanting different activities outside our classrooms. With the techniques and mediation learned on the course lessons, breaks and afterschool activities have become more creative, relaxed and mindful.
