We wanted to achieve the following goals: - to improve the quality of teaching and learning at our school through the use of innovative teaching methods; - to encourage awareness of the European identity among students, to strengthen knowledge of the EU and its institutions, and to increase awareness of the possibility of active participation of young people in the common European area; - to improve the digital competences of teachers and students and to introduce the effective use of ICT tools into the regular learning process and the production of concrete products in the context of school, project and promotional activities; - to encourage students to behave responsibly in their daily lives in favor of sustainable development and introduce good "green" practices in the field of environmental training in the regular work of our school; - we wanted to strengthen our school's capacity for cross-border exchanges and the implementation of (short-term and long-term) mobility projects through mobilities and the expansion of our network as the beginning of a network of schools that will mutually host students on LTM with and established protocol of monitoring, evaluation and recognition of acquired learning outcomes and competencies.
Our school is a small high school with Italian language of instruction, which operates in the bilingual area of Slovenian Istria. Classes are small, so we try to adapt the teaching to the characteristics and needs of the students, but nevertheless we notice that students are mostly too passive. Both at the level of school activities and at the level of social monitoring events and involvement in the local community they are mostly inactive, passive and disinterested. Through the project we wanted to equip students with knowledge and key competences for the 21st century (creative and critical thinking, communication, cooperation, teamwork, entrepreneurship, independence), encourage them to active social participation and strengthen their knowledge of the European Union and develop their European identity. Through the exchange of good practices, professional debate and project activities, we wanted to transfer innovative approaches to all our teachers and integrate them into the school's work plan. The introduction of new didactic methods to improve teaching and learning results, enhancing the digital competences, improving learning results through individualized teaching and internationalization are our school's main goals.
