When we decided on the project, we wanted to refine and improve the use of ICT technology in relation to work in school and outside it. We also carry out many activities outdoors, and in doing so we develop work with applications and programs that help us. We also wanted to train teachers who had deficits in this area. One of the key directions was also the already mentioned outdoor teaching. We want to conduct lessons outdoors, with precisely defined goals and pedagogical methods. Since the environment allows us to do this and has a positive effect on students and learning, we supplemented this area, expanded it to all departments and improved implementation. We also focused our attention on soft skills, which we also develop in the extended program, and linked this to the project. We offered students a series of activities where they had to think critically, connect, communicate, solve problems and be creative. By getting to know other European school systems and exchanging examples of good practices, the teachers gained new knowledge, experience and perspectives that will help them in their professional growth. At the same time, we all developed language competences. The project lived on and has lasting effects.
Blaž Kocen Ponikva elementary school has 212 students in 11 classes. We are a medium-sized, rural school located in a beautiful environment that offers opportunities for modern, green, inspiring and sustainable education. The school is strongly involved in local and wider events. We are involved in various national and international projects, with which we want to improve our work. The fundamental orientation of our school is high-quality teaching using modern forms and methods of work in learning. Our priorities include creating a motivational environment for the development and progress of our students, we pay a lot of attention to a healthy lifestyle, with an emphasis on movement and mental health and the development of soft skills. We also see a big role in good and encouraging mutual relations. The school is modernly equipped and many lessons are held outside, in nature, also with the help of ICT technology. This project is our second Erasmus + project. Before we were active in Comenius projects. The current project The world in the palm of your hand was well placed in the entire school and it connected the entire team, had a strong impact on the students, connected the topics with regular work at school and other projects.
