Objectives

We set ourselves two goals: Supporting the professional and personal development of school staff Inclusion: everyone should feel accepted (students, teachers, non-teaching staff, management) The purpose of the project was to enable school staff to develop professionally and personally through observations during educational visits to various schools across Europe that use the Multiple Intelligences method with an emphasis on digitalization, sports and environmental awareness, in order to contribute to raising the quality of teaching and learning, in particular and the personal satisfaction of our team. With the project, everybody should realize that they are welcome and important, that we love and care for each other. They should realize that despite various inconveniences, life is beautiful and worthy of joy if the relationships in society are inclusive, empathetic, and tolerant. We wanted to promote work motivation, ecological awareness, language and ICT competences, intergenerational and intercultural cooperation, discover abilities and diverse talents, and strengthen awareness of European citizenship through international mobilities.

Background

Riharda Jakopič Primary School is a healthy and ecological school, with a wide range of foreign languages, sports, art, research and international projects. In 2020, the Sars-Cov-2 pandemic turned the world upside down. Changes in lifestyle have also affected our students: depression, less movement skills, less motivation, changes in eating and sleeping habits, dependence on technology, stress. Two students from our school studied this topic and found that it was difficult for students on-line studying, as they did not have as much support as in school. Returning to school, the teachers found that the students were demotivated and regressed, especially in the area of empathy. For some teachers, distance education has caused serious problems. We would like to adopt new methods and technologies. Bit the pandemic also brought a lot of good things: family conversations and walks, getting closer on social networks, trying out recipes, parents playing with their children and solving tasks with them. Some teachers acquired various ICT skills very quickly and effectively, which strengthened their professional self-confidence. That's why we decided to create the project LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL...LET'S LIVE IT TOGETHER!
