The IDEA project was initiated in response to the growing demand for digital competencies and internationalization skills among SMEs and their employees. This was particularly pronounced in the PPs regions, where many businesses lacked the necessary tools, skills, and knowledge to leverage digital technologies for international growth. Key needs addressed: There was a critical need to enhance the digital skills of workers and employees in SMEs. Many companies were reliant on traditional business methods and needed to upskill their workforce to effectively use digital tools. SMEs required support to expand their operations beyond local markets. This involved developing strategic planning skills for digital internationalization, enabling them to compete more effectively. Traditional training methods were not sufficient. The project aimed to introduce innovative, challenge-based learning and transformational coaching to make training more effective and engaging. There was a need to foster collaboration and networking among SMEs, trainers, consultants, and educational institutions. Improving the digital and internationalization skills of employees was also aimed at enhancing their employability. IDEA sought to improve job prospect.
