The aim of the contents that we perform in our work with youth, and that are also encompassed in this project, is to provide a rounded education for the youth and empower them, thus providing a parallel path to their education and upbringing, a path that develops opinions and values as well as provides the courage to defend them. The project that we have co-created with our international partners is also based on the strategic consideration that Theatre Glej is consistently implementing in its youth programmes. We stem from the idea of holistic and experiential approaches in education, aim to strengthen the social skills and competences of young people, and strive for their empowerment, providing professional "informal" education and a physical space, as well as offer them the opportunity to express themselves and their views on contents that they experience. These range from general, life topics, through intimate topics from their personal lives, all the way to establishing attitudes towards policies that shape today's world and will affect the future of each and every one of them. Through our work with young people, we have, together with our project partners, established that young people believe they lack opportunities to express their opinions and are caught in an overflow of information (some stemming from social media) about what they should do, how they should think, and that everything that shows deviation from the desired poses a threat to the existence in today's world. We strive to create a training ground for young people, where they can choose the topics they want to communicate with the general public and their peers on the stage through theatre performances of various formats. The project encourages original work and approaches, critical thinking and creativity, which finds its expression through culture. We are convinced that the project not only strengthens informal education in the field of cultural creation, theatre, video materials, movement, ... writing texts, but also encourages young people to socialize as well as establish social and intercultural cooperation and critical thinking. We detect and strengthen the segments they lack in formal education and which are the key to success and the establishment of a responsible, active and thinking citizen. A citizen who values and thinks about life, and at the same time actively participates and consumes culture. Through their participation in theatre, we equip young people with knowledge and skills that, according to our experience help them in other segments of growing up.
