The project Networking of Related Youth Organisations brought together related national networks of youth organisations from seven European countries (Slovenia, Austria, Croatia, North Macedonia, Sweden, Estonia and Latvia) with the aim of networking and establishing cooperation between organisations and exchanging experiences in order to improve the quality of youth work at the national level of all project members. The project activity TC Conference made a substantive contribution to the Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The main themes of the Slovenian Presidency in the field of youth were the involvement of young people in different social and civic spaces, the implementation of the EU Youth Dialogue and the mobility of volunteers and cross-border solidarity. An important part of the meeting was the review and understanding of European strategic documents, in particular the European Agenda for Youth Work and the Erasmus+ 2021-2027 Programme Guide. We examined the situation of the youth sector in the participating countries as a result of the covid-19 epidemic and developed common orientations for the recovery in the youth work of the partner organisations after the epidemic. The Youth Network MaMa is a specific organisation with few peer organisations in the European context with which to strengthen itself systemically and programmatically, and the other partner organisations face a similar challenge, as they are all national networks of youth workers or youth work organisations in need of peers at European level. Through the conference activity we were informed about the different organisational structures and operating models of the organisations, we connected with national peer organisations. We identified programme and project opportunities to strengthen national network organisations and transfer knowledge and good practices to network members. We established an expert dialogue on the future of youth and youth work, the quality of youth work and the impact of the youth sector on national and European policy-making level. The project also involved youth organisations, members of the MaMa Network and provided them with an opportunity for learning, knowledge and experience transfer and sharing of good practices for youth workers new to the youth sector.
