With this project, we enabled young people to raise European awareness and encouraged their interest in active political participation and engagement in society. Through a practical approach, "from the bottom up," or from local initiatives to the national and European levels, we introduced young people to the possibilities of actively shaping the society they live in. In collaboration with youth centers from all over Slovenia, we addressed the EU Youth Goals through local youth initiatives: gender equality, inclusive society, mental health and well-being, progress for rural youth, quality employment for all, and a sustainable and green Europe. The project overall addressed the goal of "Space and Participation for All," which was also the theme of Slovenia's Presidency of the Council of the European Union. We successfully addressed this goal by offering young people a space for active participation in society through the project. Additionally, we strengthened youth organizations and youth centers through support in the design and implementation of local youth initiatives, with the experience of implementing youth dialogue, and by practically integrating the EU Youth Strategy Goals into the local environment. We also facilitated the transfer of initiatives to the national level through a national youth dialogue conference with the Acting Director of the Office of the Republic of Slovenia for Youth, Tina Kosi, and through participation in the national working group for youth dialogue led by the Slovenian Youth Council, in which the MaMa Network has a representative who ensured the dissemination of the youth voice expressed in the project. We successfully addressed the selected project topics: democracy and promoting participation in democratic processes, promoting alternative forms of participation, and bridging intercultural, intergenerational, and social divides.
