Objectives

The project aimed to improve the social inclusion of young people and youth workers with fewer opportunities, especially immigrants, while facilitating an effective two-way process of integration into the majority environment. The project activities involved young people, youth workers, various stakeholders, and decision-makers. Creativity, non-formal learning, and youth work enhance young people's creative and innovative capacities in ways that are crucial for their activation. Our young people are the future creators and professionals who will contribute to Europe's rich natural and cultural heritage, while also acting as agents of social change. Regarding ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION, we implemented an educational and creative process for youth workers and young people, resulting in three key project deliverables. This effort aimed to strengthen YOUTH LEARNING AND CAREER OPPORTUNITIES, FOCUSING ON SELF-INITIATIVE AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP, and fostering creative learning and social entrepreneurship. In doing so, our goal was to address identified skills and knowledge gaps, promote creative learning, recognize the richness of diversity, facilitate networking with other cross-sectoral organizations and encourage self-initiative.

Background

In our needs analysis, the partners of the project have found that young people are relatively well aware of environmental issues at a declarative level, but there is a more problematic gap with their actual environmental actions and behavior. In addition to the environmental challenges that coincided with the consequences of the COVID-19 crisis, our project partners found a decline in creativity, motivation, self-initiative, and self-confidence among our youth during the global pandemic. In the case of youth from minority groups, there were also individual and systemic barriers to participation in educational activities. The project's main aim was to show that creativity through the arts provides young people with the opportunity and inspiration to create and promote different forms of education and networking. The project focused on improving the social inclusion of young (minority) people and youth workers from Slovenia, Croatia, and Serbia. The project pursued the priority areas of INCLUSION AND DIVERSITY, ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION, AND THE FIGHT AGAINST CLIMATE CHANGE, while promoting ACTIVE CITIZENSHIP, SELF-INITIATIVE, AND YOUTH ENTREPRENEURSHIP. We addressed green skills, creativity and the arts, and the minortiy challenges.
