There were 2 goals set for the project: The first goal was to increase the digital literacy (DIGCOMP) of the school's pedagogical staff with an emphasis on its active use in the education. Through active participation in selected courses focused on the use of digital technologies, teachers familiarized with new trends in teaching, acquired new procedures, methods, and forms of their work. They gained practical skills and professional terminology in working with new applications which they implemented into education. Teachers exchanged experiences among each other within subject committees and methodological associations. They increased language skills and digital literacy in accordance with DIGCOMP EDU. The goal was to boost students' education in the field of digital technologies with an emphasis on improving their digital and language competencies and presentation skills. COVID -19 led us to the need to respond through the changes in our education. This goal includes developing literacy for all participants through new applications regardless of their specific needs in education, but mainly by changing the methods and forms of teacher‘s work with an emphasis on using digital technology and an individual approach.
The COVID-19 pandemic revealed issues with the digitization of the education even in our elementary school. Educating the teachers in ICT was one of the ways of solving the problem for the future. The school identified weaknesses in the digital skills of teachers and pupils through the SELFIE report and tried to remove them by organizing internal education by the school's digital coordinator and by providing professional education through planned project activities in the submitted project which focused on support of teachers‘ lifelong learning in the field of digital skills had the goal to improve their quality of teaching and enabling their better employability. Innovation of the educational program, the use of new forms and methods of education, testing and modernization of the school's technical equipment are part of not only this project but also the vision of our elementary school. An increase in digital competencies of teachers and pupils as well as increased interest in studying and working at our school are the facts of the positive context of the project and the correct setting of the goals, during which time the number of pupils increased from 513 to 577 from the project submission in 2021 to its ending in 2022.
