Objectives

The quality of vocational education and inclusion were our priorities. Our main objectives were the following: 1.Strengthen key competences: encouragement of multilingual competence; competence in technology and engineering; digital competence; personal, social, and learning to learn competence. 2. Increase the quality of vocational education and training. Schools cooperated with companies to prepare future workers accordingly, but there is still a need to increase the quality to achieve this. 3. Support job skills needed for the labor market. Skills mismatches and youth unemployment are still the biggest problems. We wanted our students to be better prepared for the labor market. 4. Promote inclusion: About 40% of our students have fewer opportunities. Every student has the right to be included in such a project because it can really make a difference in their life. 5. Encourage participants to experience life and work abroad. Students gained new skills necessary for life.

Background

Young people are our future, and investment in their knowledge, skills, and competences will bring benefits not only for them but for our organizations and society as a whole. The school philosophy promotes an individual attitude toward each student with the aim of finding their strengths and encouraging them to work hard and develop their skills and abilities. The pandemic has negatively impacted vocational education, especially practical training. There is a big gap between what students are supposed to know and the real situation. Due to distance learning requirements, our students haven't received the same level and quality of vocational education and training as they would have at school. Theory cannot replace practice. Our students have been missing observation in the workplace and working with equipment and machines during vocational training. We developed this project because we needed to support and encourage opportunities for the professional development of our students.
