The goals of the project can be divided into two levels. The first level was aimed at the pupil. Our goal was to improve the students' professional and language skills and expand their professional terminology. Currently, only the so-called hard skills are no longer sufficient for the needs of the labor market, so we also focused on the development of the so-called soft skills. We wanted to give students the opportunity to make decisions in which they have to use critical thinking and teach them to solve problems comprehensively. The second level focused on teachers, since the improvement of the quality of graduates can only be achieved through the improvement of the professional skills of teachers. The professional growth of teaching staff ensured the improvement and modernization of the teaching process. By implementing the project, we wanted to make the school's educational program and its position in the network of vocational schools more attractive.
For almost 30 years, the Business Academy, Polárna 1 in Košice has been providing secondary vocational education completed by the school-leaving exam in economic fields of study. Our organization is aware of the importance of practical teaching, which is why it has been involved in dual education since 2019. This form of study allows students to actively participate in the working and informal life of companies throughout their studies. Students gain valuable experience and skills in international companies, state institutions and private enterprises. Thanks to the Erasmus + program, the portfolio of employers has also expanded abroad.
