All partner schools had the feeling that our students forget their own heritage, that they look down on the history and traditions of their country and region. We wanted to go back to our roots together with them and incite pride, of course, hand in hand with tolerance of other nations and a sense of inclusion in EU society. We have planned the topics and activities so that the students can process them with the help of teachers - searching for info, asking grandparents, finding out on the web, working with hoaxes, using mob applications, online platforms to create PPTs, videos, brochures, quizzes, vlogs, leadership short seminars for classmates, guest management, workshops for partners. In addition to the active involvement of pupils, our goal was also to motivate teachers and parents to pay more attention to this issue - teachers during the educational process (subjects, end-of-year trips, excursions, seminars) and parents by observing traditions, talking to children, organizing trips around their own country. Last but not least, we tried to maintain active cooperation in mixed groups, where students improved their language skills, learned tolerance, listening to others, accepting their opinions, improving their ICT skills.
The needs of our organization resulted from insufficient cultural awareness of pupils, parents, teachers at home, but also, last but not least, awareness of other cultures in the EU zone. Despite the detailed learning of our students in various lessons, we felt that just hearing was not enough for them. We evaluated that when the participants (not only the students, but also the teachers and parents who helped with the tasks) will study, process, present, teach others, the public and create valuable material that remains embedded in the content of education in schools to raise awareness and other students and teachers, not only during the course of the project, we were convinced, and the cooperation also confirmed it, that we will remember more, we will all gain greater cultural awareness. We worked on various topics by using and learning from each other's work in Canva, cup.cut, which motivated the teachers, improved the students' skills, and made us more ready and open to cooperate with other countries in the EU. In mixed teams, we worked together on topics - culture, traditions, history, dances, folklore, food, records, fairy tales, legends and others. Working in a team brought an increase in EN lang competencies, tolerance.
