Hi-EduCarbon course targeted for universities, state and public administrations and all private organizations were focused on the current state of carbon footprint of products and organisations in all areas of the economy; GHG emissions concerning heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems; use of renewable energy sources; optimal use of natural resources. Further objective of the educational scheme development and training course was to support all cooperated universities in their internationalisation process. By implementing the project, all participants achieved enhanced knowledge and experience in quantifying greenhouse gas emissions at the level of a product and organization as well as holistic view of greenhouse gas reduction options at the level of neighbourhoods and cities towards mitigation climate change through green materials, renewable energy, green technologies.
The aim of the project was to enhance climate change education at universities throughout Eastern, Central and Western Europe. It is well known that greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the atmosphere are at high levels. This situation requires clear steps to be taken to reduce the impact of climate change as a result of human activity. One of the essential step is to increase awareness, knowledge and opportunities towards carbon neutrality. Hi-EduCarbon is just such an educational course and scheme that has provided new knowledge in: • Determining the greenhouse gas emissions and removals on the level of product - building materials and building services; • Determining the greenhouse gas emissions and removals on the level of product - structures and whole building; • Determining the greenhouse gas emissions and removals on the level of organization, neighbourhoods and cities.
