With the "Career counseling forward" project, we wanted to achieve the advancement of disadvantaged young people who had health limitations or a lack of opportunities. Not only did they not have a university education, but in their lives they had a problem completing secondary education, or some of them have a problem in completing compulsory schooling. The participants of the youth exchange were students of special schools with various diagnoses, who come from dysfunctional families and had insufficient incentives for development and application in various areas of life, such as ties - relationships, employment, business, starting a family, etc. Nevertheless, they had a very positive attitude towards crafts, and especially manual work. Through the project, the participants compared their experiences with career counseling in the Slovak and Czech Republics. At the same time, they had sufficient space for acquiring or increasing their various social competences and skills. We focused the goals of the project on supporting and strengthening the employment of youth in the labor market. Through various methods and techniques of informal education in career counseling, we helped them set up an action plan in connection with employment - applying in working life. By using informal education, they learned how to better assert themselves on the labor market, clarified their goals and priorities, and inspired each other how crafts helped them in finding opportunities.
