Entrepreneurial learning - entrepreneurship education

Objectives

In today’s day and age, the growth of the entrepreneurial world is rapidly increasing. Successful social entrepreneurs often create a gateway to exciting new innovations that could greatly enhance the way we live. As they commit to achieving their financial goals and aspirations, they also raise awareness and come up with solutions to cultural, social and environmental issues thus improving the lives of others as well as the environment in which we all live. Despite efforts to spread an innovation-based definition, far too many people still think of social entrepreneurship in terms of nonprofits generating earned income. This is a dangerously narrow view. It shifts attention away from the ultimate goal of any selfrespecting social entrepreneur, namely social impact, and focuses it on one particular method of generating resources. Millennials and Gen Z are known to be more socially responsible and sustainable, thus the increase of startups and organisations that fight climate change and environmental issues and act on social matters. Using the given methods of the Erasmus+ programme, this project has the firm goal to incorporate these renewed values into the introduction of social entrepreneurship to the young people, who are as concerned with making a positive impact on the world as they are with making a financial profit. Going further into the topic, it is of the most important to discuss and get in touch with new ways of viewing things regarding the economic, ecologic and social aspects and the overall environmental entrepreneurship. The project was of a higher benefit for the participating young people, as it gave them the opportunity to enlarge their abilities in the matter, and to: - Use creativity to solve identified problems with the least possible resources; - Expand their perception and inspiration for making changes. - Conquer the difficulties by influencing the targeted groups and team members; - Implement multicultural approaches in making the innovation a success; - Improve their professional skills and comply with the socially acceptable values. With the project, we also wanted to address and combat the issue of large levels of unemployment. By equipping the young people with fresh ideas and knowledge, and opening a whole new aspect to their widened horizon, they will feel much more confident to engage themselves into actively participating in making their environments better, and to be capable to provide for their own monetary stability. This project is matching both the general and specific objectives of Erasmus+ and the KA1 as "Pitch your GREEN, pitch your SOCIAL" is aiming to produce the following effects: - To empower the use of the tools and methods of social entrepreneurship to deliver social value and bring about positive change within their local communities as well as beyond them; - To understand and apply earned income strategies to secure their own financial security, this of their families and communities and to pursue higher goals such as communal and environmental sustainability; - To achieve an increased sense of social responsibility and engagement especially against poor resource allocation, poverty, ethnic, religious and gender-based discrimination and social injustice; - To gain soft-skills in accordance with the 8 key competences of the Erasmus+ program, also teamwork, adaptability, problem-solving, creativity, work ethic, time-management, etc; - To perceive the intended meaning of the Erasmus+ and European values; A core goal of this project is to empowering youth to apply technology in their day-to-day activities and use technological tools to discover and make use of entrepreneurial opportunities, as well as to achieve the unification of young European citizens in order to envision the formation of more cohesive and inclusive societies in the future when these youngsters become adults, which allow citizens to play an active role in democratic life in Europe. An inextricable part of this project is, as the Erasmus+ program suggests, promoting common European values, fostering social integration, and enhancing intercultural understanding and a sense of belonging to a community. The ultimate long-term goal is to prepare young people to live and contribute to a sustainable Europe through Social Entrepreneurship.
