Objectives

The project was conceived against a backdrop of increasing recognition of the importance of mental health, particularly among youth. The primary goal was to equip youth workers with the skills necessary to practice and teach mindfulness and stress management, thus improving both their own mental health and that of the young people they support. The objectives were designed to address the challenges faced by young individuals today, who often experience high levels of stress without adequate support or resources to manage it effectively. The project aimed to demonstrate the critical role mindfulness can play in daily life, emphasizing its benefits for mental and physical health. By making this connection clear, the project sought to inspire a greater appreciation for mental well-being and the ways in which mindfulness can contribute to it. Recognizing the diverse needs and learning styles of youth, the project focused on non-formal education techniques. These methods are particularly suited to teaching mindfulness and stress management, as they can be adapted to different contexts and do not require formal classroom settings or resources. By enhancing the skills and knowledge of youth workers and their organizations, the project aimed to create a ripple effect, enabling these organizations to better support the mental health of young people. This objective was about strengthening the infrastructure of support, ensuring that youth workers have the tools and understanding necessary to address mental health issues effectively.
