There are courses related to our project subject such as biology and geography in the education curriculum, but environmental education is not taught as a course in the curriculum yet. According to the "Climate Education" survey in the School Education Gateway platform in 2020 data provided by participation of teachers, mostly from Turkey, this education is not sufficiently included in the curriculum and It was concluded that teachers could not integrate the subject into their lessons due to lack of education. With this project, we aimed to increase the awareness of our teachers and students about climate and environment. In addition, we aimed for our teachers to form an idea about how they would teach the subject and to cover the subject in their own lesson plans.
Our institution is a high level school in the category of qualified institution that accepts students who are successful in the exam. Our target audience is students aged 14-18 at different social-cultural and economic levels. There are 27 teachers in our teaching staff.
