Our school's project team has set some goals when starting to write this project. In order to realize some of these goals, the idea of implementing a project and thus coming to the forefront as a school was emphasized. Our school aims to increase the quality of the vocational education it provides with Erasmus plus and similar projects and to gain students who will come to our school in order to acquire a job and a profession voluntarily. Encouraging our graduates to open businesses in their own fields and increasing their employment rates are among our main goals. With this project, it was foreseen that the students of motor vehicle technology would go to Finland and do their internship there for 3 weeks, so that the name of our school would be heard and it would attract the attention of the students.
Motor Vehicles technology students of our school cannot perform the exhaust emission maintenance and repair operations on the latest model vehicles during the training they receive in our school workshops or the internship at the firms they are employed. Only certain brands and models of vehicles have service stations in Erzurum. Out-dated tools and techniques are used in small firms in the industrial estate. The vocational training internship period of our students in businesses is not productive in this regard; and hence, after graduation, they find jobs outside of Erzurum. Moreover, our students do not have enough information about environmental pollution. They are not concerned with the effects of exhaust gas emissions on climate change. Our 3 motor vehicle technology teachers do not have adequate knowledge and experience about the exhaust and emission systems produced with the latest technological developments.
