Background

In recent years, an increase in olive production areas has been achieved with government incentives for new olive groves and certified olive saplings. In addition, Turkey ranks second in world olive production after EU countries and ranks 4th in world olive production. Despite this situation, unfortunately, olive farming in our country has not yet achieved the value it deserves in international markets. Due to the fact that olive production is one of the most important activities of the Turkish agricultural sector and the olive potential in our region, we would like to carry out active studies in olive cultivation in our application agricultural area. However, olive cultivation lags behind in both education and practice. However, olive cultivation is one of the most important agricultural products for Turkey and its added value is quite high. Besides, Turkey has not yet reached its potential and therefore there is a great employment opportunity in the olive sector. With the project activities we carried out in this direction, our participant students were provided with professional hand skills in the field of olive cultivation in the European dimension.
