Objectives

By applying our project; First of all, we wanted our participants to increase their learning performance, to realize their shortcomings and improve them, and to gain work experience, thanks to the internship to be held in Europe. We wanted our students to help them complete their language development and to use the foreign language actively in social life and to throw away their reservations about this subject. We wanted them to gain the ability to act and cooperate in accordance with teamwork, and to better understand the importance of social, linguistic and cultural diversity. We wanted to develop the awareness of green environmental awareness, waste control and management among our participating students. We wanted them to witness European practices in this regard. We wanted to increase our vocational education level and improve our quality and capacity by enriching our curriculum as a result of the project. Finally, we wanted to facilitate the employment of our students as qualified personnel both abroad and in our country, with the gains they gained from their transnational internship applications.

Background

Our school, Ankara MTAL, is affiliated to the Ministry of National Education, General Directorate of Vocational and Technical Education, and is the first secondary school opened in Turkey in the field of tourism. Students are placed in our school by interview with an address-based placement system without examination. It provides full-time education services with 372 students and 75 teachers. The departments where it offers vocational training are Accommodation and Travel Services and Food and Beverage Services. Our project has been prepared for our Kitchen branch in the Food and Beverage Services area. It is aimed to provide new competencies to our Culinary students who want to make a career in our school and become a chef, to develop their food culture, and to gain experience abroad by working in the kitchens of different countries. Important chefs who have made a reputation in the field of food and beverage technology in our country are people who have spent a lot of effort to reach their point and have proven themselves by working in the kitchens of many countries. Therefore, in order to be a start for our culinary students, our project application was made and our project was realized.
