Objectives

Bezmiâlem Valide Sultan (BVS) has the distinction of being the Valide Sultan who established the most foundations in Turkish history with her 14 endowments. The objectives of our project are; 1. To protect and pass on the younger generations the cultural heritage of BVS who served as an exemplary personality and the public in the Ottoman period. When we checked the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), we realized that some of the SDGs are very resembled what BVS was after. 2. To explain and try to transfer the cultural heritage to the next generations. It is an important issue that the foundation institutions serve as a bridge in history. Foundations that have contributed to, guided and regulated social life in Turkish societies still exist today. Valide sultans have undertaken the role of role models in society by establishing these foundations. With the project, the foundations and personality of BVS, who established the most foundations in Turkish history, will be explained. In line with this purpose, we aimed to raise the awareness of young people with a series of activities together with the institutions we have determined as our partners. 3. To raise awareness among young people and develop different understading of history. History and cultural heritage become easier to understand when it has something to do with your own life or current issues, or when you get to know a person or place better from the past. Within the scope of our project, BVS's works and their goals in creating these works with various training and trips.
