Background and Objectives Why We Implemented Our Project? Our natural resources are decreasing day by day due to the increase in the world population and the change in people's consumption habits. With the unconscious consumption of our natural resources, environmental pollution and global problems arise. In order to prevent the emergence of these problems, it is very important to separate wastes, to ensure that wastes can be recycled, to reduce material consumption and to create an individual and social awareness about recycling. In this sense, it is very important to know the value of the world we live in, to contribute to the natural balance by using our natural resources consciously. In particular, it is necessary to gain awareness on the need for social studies on the utilisation of waste and recycling. Because the use of waste materials as raw materials is also important in terms of preventing environmental pollution. The reuse of used paper in manufacturing can reduce air pollution by 74-94%, water pollution by 35% and water use by 45%. For instance, by adding one tonne of paper to the pulp, 8 trees can be prevented from being cut down. When we look at these data obtained from our researches, the reasons for the implementation of our project have emerged. What are the Goals We Have Achieved with Our Project? 1- It has contributed to raising individual and social awareness on the importance of recycling. 2- By contributing to the "Zero Waste" movement to some extent, efforts have been made to be a part of this process in which the transition from the linear economy, which includes "take-make-dispose" processes, to the circular economy, which focuses on sustainability, is gaining momentum day by day. 3- Our participants in our project contributed to the development of their ability to work and succeed as a team. 4-The participants in our project were helped to increase their self-esteem and self-managed learning skills. 5-Participants in our project have been helped to learn recycling methods, to develop awareness about the evaluation of waste materials with these methods they have learnt and to gain a spirit of social entrepreneurship. 6-The participants in our project, our target group, partner organisations and stakeholders were supported to learn new information about the main objectives and priorities of the Erasmus Plus Programme. 7- Our participants in our project have been encouraged especially in ensuring environmental sustainability and developing digital competencies, which are among the main goals and priorities of the Erasmus Plus Programme. It has contributed to the awareness of our participants, target group and stakeholders in our project on the importance of the Youthpass Certificate and raised awareness on the 8 key competencies of the Youthpass Certificate. What are the Erasmus Plus Objectives We Achieved with Our Project? As our project includes participants from different countries and cultures, despite the cultural and geographical differences of these participants, it has given them the opportunity to influence decisions such as working together around a common value, creating a common European idea and contributing to the structuring of Europe, including Turkey. All our participants, target group and stakeholders explored the causes of global warming, carbon footprint reduction, the importance of natural resources and management methods and awareness under the environmental priority. All participants were encouraged to work on environmental issues by incorporating green practices. At the same time, they understood the importance of intercultural dialogue and learning, became aware of the feeling of being European, strengthened European values and broke down prejudices. As a result, our project has been implemented in order to raise awareness on raising environmental awareness and recycling awareness in the society, making recycling a part of our lives and even a philosophy, and contributing to decision-making mechanisms to take action on this issue.
