Objectives

In this project, light pollution is simply the use of light in the wrong place, in the wrong amount, in the wrong direction and at the wrong time. Illumination of unwanted or unneeded light means both disturbing light and wasted energy. Light exceeding the level of illumination that the eye is accustomed to causes deterioration of the eyesight, loss of visibility of objects and adversely affecting road and environmental safety at night. Artificial light spreading towards the sky is scattered in all directions by dust and molecules in the atmosphere and increases the background brightness of the sky; the natural beauty of the sky and the stars disappear. Since light pollution disrupts the natural darkness of the night, it also negatively affects natural life. We handled this project in order to raise awareness against light pollution. The fact that light pollution is such an important issue, that countries do not pay attention to light pollution and that young people do not have enough information about it continue to increase the misuse of light. For this reason, by addressing this issue, it is one of our goals to inform young people about the harms of light pollution, to raise awareness about light pollution, and to support the development of young people by using non-formal education methods while creating this awareness. In the objectives of our project; - To raise awareness about light pollution among young participants - Guiding young people to use the right light - To make young people sensitive and respectful to the environment - To raise awareness about light pollution nationally and internationally - To enable them to use digital tools in education methods for light pollution and to improve their digital literacy skills. - Strengthening and improving their competencies with lifelong learning methods - To enable them to acquire new skills - To support the strengthening of personal development - To ensure the active participation and socialization of disadvantaged young people - Ensuring the development of digital skills and digital literacy in young people - Developing intercultural interaction of young people is among our targets.
