Objectives

Young people, as the present actors and future decision-makers in their societies, need to be better informed about global environmental issues and use their intrinsic creativity and energy to contribute to transform their societies. Young people will play a key role in the transition towards a life sustaining society, and youth workers can be the facilitators of this process. In this sense, our aim is to prepare youth workers to inform, inspire, motivate and engage young people in environmental active citizenship. This project included non-governmental organizations from 8 countries (Turkey, North Macedonia, Lithuania,Germany,Netherland,Italy, Moldova and Spain), facing the same challenge, in the idea of creation and implementation of youth exchange, which to contributed to raise environment awareness of young people in partner countries through: increasing the environment awareness. The youth exchange was held in Antalya ,Turkey giving the opportunity to 40 young people from to exchange experience and gain knowledge for healthy environment and practices to implement it at local, national and European level. The project seeked to encourage young people’s willingness to address environmental and ecological issues in their Erasmus + projects. By promoting this Youth Exchange we wanted to help them build-up their knowledge and to change their attitude towards environmental education and nature preservation. The aim of the project was to provide young people with an opportunity to rasie awareness and get informed with other youngsters and volunteers and showed them how to voice and share their opinions, as well as learning new skills while creating original items that reflected their own identity and individual cultural influences, focusing on the way their countries fight this problem. The following concrete objectives were set in order to reach the aims as described above: to explore and discover more of the local environment of Hungary (typically: natural environment, social environment, historical environment, traditional environment) to provide pedagogical support and time for the participants to develop their own environmental activities; to support the intercultural exchange between participants; to produce a short handbook with the activities created by the participants;
