Objectives

In the “Life to Burdur Lake” project, we wanted to discuss the importance of the fight against thirst, which is one of the biggest problems of today's world and has an important share in environmental problems. Our project, starting from the water problem on a local and global scale, primarily aimed to raise awareness about Burdur Lake locally, and then to produce preventive measures and solutions for the global water problem by induction. With the activities carried out in our project, we mainly aimed to: - The issue of water, which comes from three different countries with different lives and perspectives, but is a common problem for all of us, should be examined in an international environment and raise awareness among young people on this issue. -To create public opinion and draw attention to the Global Water Problem through the press, as well as to develop solutions from the perspective of young people and present them to the public. -Learning the subject through non-formal education methods by organizing discussions, idea presentations, workshops, applications, simulations, brainstorming, activities, excursions. -To raise awareness of the young people about the world we live in and the protection of the water in it. To gain awareness about environmental protection, to see examples of good practice. - Young people can see the different approaches they will exhibit and the differences with similar practices in those countries. -Young people to interact with the local people and learn the subject by experience. -To bring together differences and produce solutions with team spirit by providing an international working environment. In this context, we can evaluate that we have achieved all of our above-mentioned goals to a large extent, and that we have even created an impact beyond expectations. First of all, the young people became aware of the water problem in the Burdur locality, and discussed the situation in Burdur in their research and presentations. In addition, the presentations made allowed them to better understand the importance of the situation. Afterwards, they made workshops and presentations on the global water problem with the induction method. In this way, young people better understood the importance of water for the future of the world and to this extent they shared information with all groups. However, at the end of our project, young people produced solutions for individual awareness that can be done deductively and presented it. Activities were held in order to raise awareness among the local people by drawing attention with the Flash mob event. The activities of our project were shared on social media. News about the content of our project were shared with the press. The content of our project was widely covered in local news sources. Thanks to the international working environment created, the young people, who had the opportunity to come together with different ideas, produced common solution suggestions by melting the differences in a pot. Young people shared the solution proposals in their own networks and made the project widespread. Young people had the opportunity to come together with decision makers and present their solution proposals to them. Within the framework of the final report, the young people had the opportunity to share the project outputs with the institutions. Young people came to the conclusion that first of all, individual awareness about water saving is important and emphasized that individuals should be made aware of water saving in their own lives. Subsequently, it was emphasized that institutions should develop projects that plan the future in terms of water saving, and they concluded that only qualified solutions can be developed if such cooperation is realized. Within the scope of the project, young people came to the conclusion that civil society, academia and local administrations can solve local problems by acting together. To this extent, as in the case of Burdur, Burdur Municipality, Burdur Governorate, Burdur Special Provincial Administration, Mehmet Akif Ersoy University shared the project outputs with the decision makers. Thanks to the content of our project in the local press, a wide audience became aware of the content of our project. It was aimed to create a multiplier effect by enabling them to disseminate the project outputs in their own locality through our partner organizations.
