The media, as well as being an environment in which people see many needs such as information, information, news transmission, fun, pleasant time, leisure time evaluation, are also confronted as big scale commercial companies in terms of organizational structure. This development in the media industry and the rapid spread of communication technologies have made the media more powerful today. The media has begun to have a say in their lives, changing people's way of life, their understanding of entertainment and their cultural values.Having functions such as informing, directing and educating, the media also plays an important role in the periods of political or social change. For example, the most important mass movement of the 21st century, highlighted the role of communication tools. In the face of this strong and dominant influence of the media, people need to be conscious of and be more active in the context of "media literacy" in order not to be passively exposed to written, visual or audiovisual media products as media consumers. In today's point, the power of the media has become an indisputable one. The development of communication technologies in particular is emerging as an important factor in increasing the field of activity of the media. How to stay informed but to avoid misinformation? How to confront and counter hate speech online? How to distinguish between reliable information and various forms of propaganda? We would like to carry out this project to empower youth workers and youth activists to become conscious media and news consumers, to apply their critical thinking skills and to contribute to more inclusive and tolerant societies through non-formal education methods. Spesific objectives were: - to explore the interrelation between media messages and tolerance/intolerance in our societies, especially in regards to the topic of migrant and refugee crisis - to make distinctions between different types of media content (news journalism, propaganda, promotion, entertainment, etc.) - to explore the crucial elements of a reliable journalist’s craft (balance, reliability, usage of proper sources) - to learn to evaluate the reliability of sources and to approach any information critically - to promote the core EU values and cooperation under the Erasmus+ programme In the project, all partner organizations developed informal learning methods for the development of tools and methods for the socio-professional development of youth workers and trainers in their organizations, and implemented methods that promoted the acquisition of digital competences, in particular media literacy skills.
