What we wanted to realize with our project was to ensure more participation of young people in social and managerial activities, to increase their internships in decision-making mechanisms. Our organization is one of the important organizations operating in our district and working in the field of social assistance. Due to the fact that it operates as one of the prefectural units at the management level, it has a structure that directly affects decision-making mechanisms. What we are trying to develop with the project is to support the participation of young people in the activities and policies we produce for young people, starting from the production stage. In this way, they will be able to have the chance to reflect their own ideas in the activities and policies produced for them. In addition, with the impact of our project, it is aimed to include young people who have not participated or felt the need to participate in decision-making mechanisms in civil society activities or social events so far., We aimed to conduct studies that can prove that young people are not apolitical or insensitive to their surroundings, but rather are the main actors that can initiate change and development. We aimed to create a youth strategy document in order for the non-governmental organizations working in the youth field in our region to work more effectively. And at the end of the project, together with the young people who participated in our activities and the corporate representatives of the local government units such as education, health, security, agriculture, finance, religious affairs, etc., who assumed a decision-making role in our city, we put forward a youth strategy document that had not been created in our city before. Our city is one of the cities where the young population is quite dense, which includes 3 universities. In everyday life, young people can find quite large areas for themselves in the city, considering their interests and the activities they want to participate in. In fact, Eskişehir is a city that relies on young people economically and socially. Despite the fact that this is the case, we are witnessing that young people cannot easily communicate their own demands and expectations to the management levels. Young people should be able to find more places for themselves in the public and political arena as well as in social life. The city councils formed by municipalities and including young people are functionally deficient in carrying youth problems at the management levels. In addition, it is observed that the institutions that are expected to produce policies for young people by expressing the problems and problems of young people, such as the Ministry of Youth Sports, are not much more active in our city. In the current situation, with the exception of a few youth centers located in the city center, large activities that will involve young people cannot be carried out. This situation causes young people to exhibit a tendency to enjoy the social structure of the city and but to hold back from having a say in the management of the city. This situation, which causes young people to avoid being considered, also prevents them from expressing themselves. The direct goal of our project was to make young people more sensitive to social problems and to contribute to finding platforms where they can directly contribute to the solution of problems. While supporting the increase of awareness of young people with the 8 activities we have carried out during our project, we have tried to attract the attention of the authorities in order for young people to have a say in the decision-making mechanisms. During the project, we have tried to increase the sensitivity of the city on this issue. although there are 336 people who are eligible to receive certificates by actively participating in our project, we know that we have reached thousands of young people with the multiplier effect. As a result, as the Tepebaşı Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundation, we have taken very useful steps to increase the involvement of young people in decision-making mechanisms and improve their social sensitivity, especially in the city of Eskişehir and Tepebaşı district. During the methodology followed and the activities implemented, European Union Values and Program Priorities were taken as a basis, and the need for the cosmopolitan structure of our city to be oriented towards the goal of a European City where young people can have more say was emphasized. With the Youth Strategy Document created, the goal of involving young people in decision-making mechanisms was presented to the relevant institutions in a written text for the first time.In addition to its outputs, this project has paved the way for us to continue our work for our city to become a more livable city for young people and to develop studies in order to win the title of European Youth Capital for our city with the innovations we will implement.
