We wanted to achieve the promotion of active citizenship education and create a digital platfrom where adult educators NGO's , Public Educations Centers and Universities enjoy an educative environment where the learners and educators interact. They focus on defining common problems, offer solutions and find ways to increase eachother's potentials/ capabilities. The Implementation of this project provided us with the chance to compare the strategies, policies and practices for asylum seekers and refugees in partner countries. It makes possible to develop the knowledge, attitudes and digital skills of adult educators working with refugees and refugees on active citizenship. It also ensures that asylum seekers and refugees will be aware of their fundamental rights and obligations in the country they live . As an overarching goal, we would like ensure that asylum seekers and refugees will be active members of the society, they become more sensitive, solution-oriented and participatory regarding the problems of the city, region, country and world they live in.
We have applied for this project because we saw the need for more educational platforms and digital resources that could address both adult educators and refugess and asylum seekers. Moreover our topic "active citizenship" is an understudied topic and as project partners coming from diverse backgrounds we strongly believe active citizenship and its practices are filling the gap in the countries where "migrant" and "host society" lack collaborative platforms. This is why we formed ACT NEW HOME as an pioneering initiative which is dedicated to fostering active citizenship, facilitating social inclusion, and digital learning accelerating the integration process for asylum seekers and refugees. The active citizenship in the context of migration addresses the following needs: - to foster active participation in society; changing the passive perspective into an active one - to be aware of the basic rights in respective countries, - to discover the human potentials and sharpen the abilities for further life-long education - to learn how to coexits with different ways of life (culture, religion, manners) - to prepare one self for the job market, as well as the contribution the society in economical sense
