Objectives

The aim of the project was to design a contemporary and target group-orientated vocational training programme in order to improve the professional situation of cultural workers. To this end, we first wanted to systematically investigate our assumptions concerning the shortcomings of the existing situation. We also wanted to exchange ideas with international partners and see whether they share these assumptions and come to the same findings when investigating systematically. Finally, we wanted to create a concept and curriculum for a further education programme as a basis for counteracting the perceived deficits.

Background

In the course of our educational work, the KUPF team has repeatedly realised that there are deficits in the professional training and, above all, further training of cultural workers. In terms of content, topics such as digitalisation, inclusion and Europeanisation were almost completely absent. Structurally, there was a lack of alternative forms of learning or digital learning aids. In general, the professional situation of cultural workers is precarious due to the non-standardised training and further education situation. As KUPF wanted to explore this topic in greater depth together with other organisations active in the field of VET for cultural workers, it looked for partners for an international exchange project and corresponding funding. The Erasmus+ programme seemed to be the ideal funding provider for the project, and contact was sought with BLVKK and TRANSIT via existing contacts, both of whom were immediately enthusiastic about the topic and the needs addressed. So the three organisations designed a proposal which was fortunately granted by the EU.
