With the implementation of the project, we wanted to promote the professional and personal development of the participants on the one hand. However, another important aspect of the project was also to develop the participants' foreign language skills and better expressiveness, as many learners have very little or no experience abroad. For example, the learners should become more adept at developing new ideas, being adaptable or using new techniques. They should make new contacts on their own, thereby helping themselves to new perspectives and greater participation in society.
The ZAWM has been offering mobility projects for almost 60 years. The Social Pedagogical Service and the head of department or the directorate are responsible for the organisation. Close contact with the potential participants is already maintained during the planning stage, and this contact is also maintained during the mobility. In this project period, the mobilities were taken up exclusively by students in the second year of the Bachelor's programme in Public and Business Administration. Many students have little or no experience abroad. In order to increase the chances on the European labour market for our students, we are happy to offer them the opportunity to participate in such a project. Although this means a lot of administrative work and close supervision for us, in our view the benefits for the participants outweigh the costs. In our view, the clear benefit lies in the expansion of professional and personal competences and to a large extent also in the promotion of foreign language skills.
