With the "Postcards from Nature" project, we gave 30 young people from Bulgaria and Armenia the opportunity to acquire the skills to create postcards with messages about nature conservation from photos taken by themselves. The 6 Youth Workers from the two partner organizations also needed to exchange good practices in working with young people in the field of environmental protection, to share and upgrade their professional skills. We live in a digital age that is constantly evolving. At the same time, more and more cases of exclusion, isolation, and inappropriate behavior are being registered among young people. Society, especially young people, does not cope with so many changes. The causes can be many, from indifference to a lack of specialized education, and the effects can be dramatic. This generates changes in behavior, with serious consequences, especially for young people, who think less and less about the real dangers in nature, living in their digital world. We want to give the youth a chance to be active and send messages to their communities. In addition to digital cards, we are restoring the look of paper postcards, a look almost unknown to today's youth. In this context, the project offered the youth an opportunity to expand their messaging skills by applying informal methods and emotions from communicating with nature, accumulated while performing the activities. The topic was very important to both partner organizations because of our interests, as both organizations are environmental. We have a desire to acquire new knowledge and competences, which contributes to the expansion of the opportunities of each NGO to work with young people in terms of preserving the environment, especially during a crisis - health and economic, as we have been living in recent years. The main goal of the project is to raise the awareness of young people about sustainable living and environmental protection through active European citizenship. Specific goals are: stimulating young people for active European citizenship towards an ecological environment; real implementation of activities for a sustainable and green environment in everyday life with impact through art; using digital tools for youth to create message cards to create social campaigns in their communities promoting a sustainable and green environment; raising the awareness of young people about the importance of a sustainable lifestyle; encouraging youth initiative; promotion of the Erasmus+ program; sustainable partnership between partner organizations. By implementing this project, we shared with the youth various creative tools for environmental education and learned how to raise environmental awareness through art in the situation of the information flow that floods us daily, including fake news. We are convinced that art is what will influence the emotional decision to be more active in protecting the environment, and the postcards created by the youth within the project prove this.
