Objectives

Our main objectives were: - to catalyse change in labour market participation and reduce unemployment of marginalised youth, the improvement of the individual's’ employability towards sustained economic growth in Bulgaria and Turkiye. - to prepare marginalised students on how to maintain positive physical and verbal image, how to improve their verbal and non-verbal communication, how to be answer difficult questions during job interviews, how to prepare in digital format their Europass CV & cover letter as well as which channels to use in terms of searching for a job. This led to greater independence, which give to them more chances for labour market inclusion. - to reach the sustainable development goals in reducing poverty and exclusion via acquisition of job preparation skills and their further development, which enables students with fewer opportunities to cope with the career preparation in an understandable and captivating way. - to develop a customised pre-employment support toolkit according to the identified students' needs specifically addressing pre-employment preparation for these students with fewer opportunities at the last grades of their education. This was fully achieved via 1 year of career guidance programme.

Background

We have developed this project due the identified real needs for advanced career guidance to students from marginalised groups such as: Roma students, students with learning difficulties and mild disabilities, refugees and immigrants students as well as international students (especially in Turkiye). In the developed Pre-employment programme by our partnership we have addressed the preparatory level in terms of job preparation, job search and interview self-presentation skills of these students, which support is provided by teachers at the mainstream schools in Bulgaria and Turkiye. The programme has 15 sessions, which are clearly described in terms of guidance notes to teachers, expected outcomes, aims, activities as well as accompanied by practical worksheets, tests and activities. Thanks to the impplemented pilot activities we have involved 40 teachers and 120 students, who have raised their self-esteem, self-confidence, motivation and self-determination in terms of believe in their success on the labour market. Each one of them has own Europass CV, cover letter and have participated in rehearsing job interview. In addition, the three info cards helped them to recall important information from the processes.
