Our primary objectives were to: Promote storytelling as an effective technique in the classroom, capturing students' attention and making the learning experience more enjoyable and impactful. Demonstrate the possibilities of storytelling in various classroom situations, showcasing its applicability across different subjects and topics. Empower teachers with a new educational methodology by providing them with a comprehensive Storytelling Manual and enhancing their confidence and ability to incorporate storytelling effectively. Develop an easy-to-use framework for teachers to develop engaging stories, enabling them to convey knowledge effectively regardless of the topic. Make a positive impact on students' learning outcomes, fostering a love for learning, improving comprehension of abstract concepts, and enhancing overall engagement and motivation. Contribute to developing high-quality early childhood education and care systems by supporting teachers, school leaders, and other teaching professionals.
We applied for this project because we recognized the crucial need to enhance teaching techniques and improve the learning experience for children in primary school age. We aimed to address the following needs: Many teachers need to become more familiar with the difference between storytelling and reading. They need to learn how storytelling can captivate students' attention and create a more engaging and interactive learning environment. Teachers lack knowledge of effectively using modulation, dramatization, gestures, body language, and movement while telling stories. These techniques can significantly enhance the impact and delivery of the story, making it more memorable for students. Teachers need guidance on incorporating metaphors and encouraging students to use all their senses to absorb stories. Storytelling can create a more immersive and holistic learning experience by combining visual, auditory, and kinesthetic elements. Teachers need to fully understand the importance of making eye contact with students to emphasize essential points or encourage interaction through thoughtful questions. These skills are vital for maintaining student engagement and facilitating a more profound understanding.
