Objectives

"Human Flow" project was hosted in Ayia Napa, Cyprus in April 2022. Organizations from countries where refugees come first (Cyprus, Italy, Greece, Spain) or are not accepted (Lithuania) implemented the initiative. There were 8 participants from each country. The key goal of the project was to make it possible for young people and the general public to understand that refugees provide a vast range of skills and potential (when integrated). They should not, therefore, be viewed as an issue. This goal can be accomplished by: 1) exposing young people to current issues created by keeping incoming refugees on the fringes of society; 2) sharing good practices on refugee integration; 3) creating new ideas on how to make best use of their potential; 4) educating young people how to apply the information acquired; and then 5) disseminating it to a broader audience in Europe. Moreover, the project also enabled participants to become more involved and engaged Europeans.
