Objectives

"Act for Good" is a youth exchange that aims to equip youth groups with competencies and needed tools that help them put their initiatives into practice in the contexts of identifying problems in their communities, tackling challenges and contributing to the development of the society. It develops skills, knowledge and abilities of participants towards social entrepreneurship and labor market skills. GEM report 2019/ 20 shows that perceived opportunities in EU and Eastern Partnership countries range between 30% - 60%, but the Established Business Ownership Rate is a maximum of 13%. There is a big gap. Partner organizations carried out research among their target groups. They organized focus group interviews with unemployed people they offer activities to. The results show that young people see these opportunities; they have motivation to build social enterprises, but issues like fear of failure, lack of awareness and not enough competencies - hold them back. Their interests are diverse: community development, education, healthcare, energy, environment, youth. Therefore, the project does not put limits on fields and it unites young people with the interest in social entrepreneurship no matter the field they would like to work in. Shortly, the idea is to help young people in the transmission from unemployment to self-employment as social entrepreneurs. "Act for Good" helps personal development of participants as a first significant output, but societal development and transnational cooperation on a long-term basis. Youth initiatives are considered as drivers of positive changes in societies and the project is about to stimulate the competencies of youth to be fulfilled. Partner organizations work in this field and they get motivated to meet and reinforce the mission statements they have in their statutes.
