Background

The motivation was born from observing the needs of disadvantaged young people to develop life skills and to empower them to become fulfilled adults. Day after day, youth workers realize that the society is changing faster and faster. A more connected world is confusing digital progress and social changes. Until the 21st century, youth workers have been efficiently able to use methods that were born in the 1950s. With the democratization of the internet and the fall of the East bloc, society has changed radically and relations between individuals have metamorphosed. Internet was supposed to connect people together, though 86% of young people between 18 and 35 years-old feel lonely. This increase in the feeling of loneliness also comes with an increase in the distrust among individuals in the society. The project concerns the issue of life skills development for young people from vulnerable groups. Life skills education contributes to gender equality; democracy; active citizenship; the promotion of lifelong learning; quality of life; the promotion of peace.
