Background

Our school is a union of two schools, the Grammar School of Jan Blahoslav and the Secondary Pedagogical School. There are students between 13-19 at the grammar school and students between 15-19 at the pedagogical school. There are about 850 students, about 70 teachers and 16 other members of staff. The school provides students with the opportunity to study foreign languages (English, German, French and Russian), and offers preparatory courses for Cambridge exams and Goethe Zertifikat. In 2005 the school became the Exam Centre of the Goethe-Institut.The school is also a faculty school of the Pedagogical faculty of Olomouc University. We have started a new teaching programme based on CLIL methodology - five subjects are partially taught in English. The school prepared an Erasmus + KA 1 project called Let´s CLIL in 2018 and an Erasmus + KA1 project called New Opportunities in 2021. The aim of both projects was to educate teachers in the CLIL methodology and foreign languages.
