Methodological courses within the Erasmus+ project should enable us to get out of teaching stereotypes thanks to familiarization with new approaches, methods and school systems in EU countries. Through the implementation of the project, we wanted to provide language teachers with support and tools to teach foreign languages effectively and in a modern way, taking into account the educational needs of pupils, the demands of parents and the rapid development of our society, technology etc.
A non-state grammar school in Letohrad provides general education for pupils from 11 -19. There are 180 pupils nad 18 teachers. Even though we operate in a rural region, we try to provide students with education in a modern way. We can see significant differences between individual pupils and their primary schools in the quality of English teaching. The pressure of some parents for high-quality English teaching is also increasing, and the imaginary scissors of the English level of incoming children are opening up. We therefore need to use different teaching methods, differentiate teaching so that teaching is beneficial for everyone. The Erasmus+ program helps teachers to adopt new teaching methods and ideas which they then transfer to our teaching environment. In the past, language teachers participated in methodological courses focused on the use of digital technologies in teaching, which proved to be very beneficial at a time when schools were affected by Covid-19 measures. In our current project KA122 - SCH we wanted to focus on preventing stereotyping of foreign language teaching, lack of stimuli and motivation hindering the successful acquisition of foreign languages.
