Our main goal was to create an environment that promotes the teaching of Greek, the inclusion of students and the prevention of xenophobia and racism. We wanted to achieve the following specific goals: Improving language competence: to increase students' communicative ability in Greek and improve their knowledge of grammar and spelling. To use new teaching methods that we can use for both general and language education of our students. To teach students Greek to think and communicate without fear of language barrier. To educate in a creative and meaningful way. Our goal was for our students to reach a level where they could earn a certificate in Greek in the future. Student Inclusion: we wanted to create an environment that encourages the engagement of all students, regardless of their previous experience with Greek. This included creating a modern form of education that includes annual trips to Greece or Cyprus, where students engage in prepared lessons directly at a local school and work in a group. Preventing xenophobia and racism: We wanted students to learn to tolerate different customs and social differences.
Our school is a comprehensive educational institution that provides students with the opportunity to gain a fundamental understanding of key academic disciplines and deeper knowledge in the fields they choose for their further studies. We offer a wide range of elective courses, especially in the final year when students already have a certain idea about their future studies. We aim to motivate students to learn Greek, which is an optional subject but highly beneficial in various professional fields. We need to create a modern form of education, with trips to Greece or Cyprus, where students actively engage in prepared lessons directly at local schools. In response to the educational needs, we strive to enhance students' communication skills and acquaint them with the real life of Greeks and Cypriots. We seek to improve their knowledge of grammar and spelling, essential for a comprehensive study of the language. Furthermore, we want students to connect with Ancient Greek, the foundation of grammar and spelling. Students not only enhance language skills but also cultivate tolerance for diverse customs, gaining insight into ancient Greece's legacy and understanding the workings of various societies.
