GENERAL SUMMARY OF OUR PROJECT Within the scope of youth exchange, our project aimed to draw attention to the phenomenon of environmental pollution, which has a global importance, through the generation of ideas and efforts of young people. In this context, our aim is to examine in detail the scientific data about the effects, causes and consequences of environmental pollution on our world, to make various judgments on the subject using these data, and to make a situation analysis. As a result of this analysis, it is to create and implement policies to prevent environmental pollution, which we see as a problem. In this sense, our project aimed to support both the formation of environmental awareness and the creation of different projects on the subject shaped by the support and ideas of young people, in other words, to popularize volunteering activities. Pollution Definition: Definitions of contaminants are usually made at the international level. Emission limits are determined by the relevant institutions of the countries with regulations. Measurements of these pollutants are also made by the state or the authorized private sector, and penal sanctions are applied in case of exceeding the limit values. Air pollution is the pollution that occurs when dust, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide/dioxide and gases containing heavy metals emitted from things such as factories, thermal power plants, residences, vehicles mix into the air without being discharged. As a result of the use of fossil fuels in residences, transportation and factories, the increase in the use of fossil fuels in parallel with the technological development and population growth rate causes a great increase in air pollution. In addition, process-based air pollution emissions from industries also create significant pollution, along with the above-mentioned sources. Although the factors causing air pollution and their effects are very diverse, the precautions to be taken can be summarized under the headings of education, technique and law. As the impact of environmental pollution on our lives increases, environmental awareness and awareness activities become widespread. But the impact of pollution spreads faster than the widespread consciousness that hinders it and becomes a threat to our future. The world population is increasing rapidly, natural resources are rapidly decreasing, and the rate of renewal of resources is rapidly decreasing. Due to this increase in pollution, it is obvious that future generations will face a much more serious scenario than ours. In order to reduce the effects of this bad situation caused by environmental pollution and to leave a livable natural environment to future generations, we should research what needs to be done individually and institutionally, and follow the process by producing policies. OUR GOALS ACHIEVED WITH OUR PROJECT Our goals include analyzing and neutralizing the factors that cause environmental pollution. Supporting young people to develop responsibility towards nature and sensitivity to environmental disasters is another important goal of ours. In addition, it is equally important to obtain scientific data from the right sources, to transform this information from their own perspectives, and to produce combat methods. A person who does not respect the nature he/she lives in the world, that is, his/her home, cannot show respect to humanity either. Thus, the participants, who became aware of the protection of the environment and the elimination of the factors that harm the nature, had the chance to develop their human and social skills to the same extent. Young participants, who took responsibility in the planning and preparation phase of the project in order to achieve our goals, gained environmentally friendly living habits by implementing what they learned through practice and sustainability activities. While doing this, they had the chance to develop their potential both individually and socially by working as a team, expressing ideas in discussions, and activating creative thinking dynamics. In other words, our goals were not only to draw attention to environmental pollution, but also to enable participants to develop the following characteristics: **Communication in a foreign language, **Teamwork skills, ** Self-expression and communication skills, **Creative thinking and idea generation potentials, ** Sensitivity towards voluntary activities and global problems, **Active citizenship and awareness of responsibility. For this purpose, multi-faceted activities were implemented in the project. Activity processes and learning methods were carried out for the participants to discover different aspects and information in each activity.
