THE REASONS FOR IMPLEMENTING OUR PROJECT AND STARTING POINTS OF IT Physical inactivity ranks fourth in the list of death risk factors in the world. According to studies, physical inactivity accounts for 6% of deaths worldwide. 3.2 million people die each year due to inactivity. Studies have shown that the risk of death from all causes is 20% to 30% higher in people who are not active enough. Regular physical activity reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes, breast cancer, colon cancer and depression. It is estimated that lack of physical activity is the main cause of approximately 21-25% of breast and colon cancers, 27% of diabetes and 30% of ischemic heart diseases. Physical inactivity is most prevalent in high-income countries, but very high levels are also observed in some middle-income countries, particularly among women. As a result of these researches, the emergence of developing and changing life habits of individuals and insufficient active life caused some problems. Young people are the group most affected by these problems. Based on this situation, we wanted to create social awareness so that young people can acquire active living habits, contribute to the awareness of the society on this issue, and be a guide for them to improve their awareness levels in the adults around them. Therefore, we have created awareness on our participants and target groups with informative presentations, team activities, non-formal and informal learning methods, applied activities and dissemination activities in our project. The Objectives Achieved Through Our Project *We contributed to make the principle of “sports for life” visible in the society. *We tried to raise awareness of individuals and especially the young generation about acquiring regular physical activity habits. *We encouraged local people to understand the importance of this situation by raising awareness of the importance of sports activities. *We have ensured that the target audience is informed about the statistics regarding the decreasing daily activity rate due to the changing world order. *We contributed to raising awareness about the need to support studies on what can be done to bring sports into daily life. *We helped raise awareness about the importance of increasing the visibility of physical activities by promoting a healthy lifestyle. * We enabled young people to express their thoughts about sports. *We encouraged young people to raise awareness about global issues. *We contributed to the internalization of respectful and tolerant attitudes instead of prejudiced and discriminatory ones. *We supported people to gain awareness about the concepts of gender equality and equal opportunity. *We emphasized the need to support the efforts to increase the recognition of the Erasmus+ program and increase the participation of young people in the program. *We have enabled young people to increase their creativity and gain individual competencies.
