Both laboratory schools have, as one of their missions, to develop and further spread innovative approaches in education. In the project, we looked at similarities and differences between to nations and cultures, but also looking at the value questions from intergenerational perspective. With the pupilamong people. By getting to know the values, we led the pupils to proactive behavior and civic engagement. Through the activities, we created the conditions for the values to become something concrete which can contribute to the improvement of the well-being of each individual and the entire learning community. We supported the development of pupils' key competences, especially civic, communicative, social and problem-solving competences. As the project was focused on cooperation with a foreign school with French - English learning program, it also supported the language skills of the pupils.
Labyrinth Laboratory School has been actively involved in European project calls since its establishment in 2016. In 2019, it has joined the LabSchoolsEurope project: Participatory Research for Democratic Education Erasmus+ (2019-1-DE01-KA203-005003), which supported the collaboration of European laboratory schools. Based on this experience, we felt the need to continue and further develop the collaboration we started. We have been in contact with the laboratory school in Paris since 2016 and have also been involved in a previous project with them, so we decided to create a project that will further develop democratic education and values education and allow direct participation of students and teachers from both schools. Another aim was to enable both schools to learn about the cultural environment of the partner school and will further develop the language competences of pupils and teachers. In this respect it was very interesting for us to respond to the call in the Small Scale Partnership project, which allowed us to implement the project within 2 partner organisations and in a shorter period of time - for the pupils of both schools the key activities were planned for a period of 1 school year.
