Our aim is to provide the social workers involved in the project with comprehensive training through specially designed psychomotor activities that will facilitate their work with older people. It will also enable the elderly to improve their quality of life in terms of self-care, maintaining motor skills, eveloping balance, good coordination, fine motor skills, memory and attention. At the same time, we also focus on the social workers themselves, offering them ways to use psychomotorics to prevent burnout and maintain a harmonious personality balance for quality performance in their profession. By involving more than 100 people from the target group in the training and producing a 'methodological manual' summarising the topics discussed, including practical guidelines for working with the elderly, we will contribute to improving the quality of health care for the ageing generation and social workers who care for the elderly. Through transnational cooperation, experiences and examples of good practice will be shared between partner organisations and social workers from both countries. The printed publication will also enable us to effectively disseminate this method within the social sector. services and the public.
The organisation Bude líp has long been engaged in activities that promote togetherness and mutual human assistance, and the issue of mental health and education is one of the main activities of this organisation and its partner organisation - UPJŠ - Ústav telesnej výchovy a športu. The project was created on the basis of our volunteer experience in caring for the elderly during the time of COVID, which gave us the opportunity to gain a deeper insight into this issue. At the same time, the project builds on the previous successful international cooperation in the project "Quality of Life and Health in the Elderly", in which all 3 lecturers involved in our project participated. Thus, the project responds directly to specific needs that we have observed in the field of elderly care and social workers during these activities. This is primarily the need for social workers caring for the elderly to acquire new knowledge and innovative methods in the field of quality care for mobile, immobile and bedridden elderly people, as well as for the mental health of social workers. The method uses low-cost tools and can be immediately applied in everyday practice. The implementation of the project was preceded by an expressed interest.
