We wanted to achieve the support of 40 disadvantaged young people (20 in the Czech Republic and 20 in Slovakia), to inspire and motivate them to work on themselves, to pass on new knowledge and skills and at the same time to teach it to foreign partners who can spread our method further abroad and help their local socially disadvantaged students. Thanks to the partnership, we wanted to bring new methods for high school students to the Czech Republic and to learn how to work better with the target group. We wanted to address the need to acquire new information, introduce new methods into the methodology and transfer the project to a new environment.
We are a NGO that has been helping socially disadvantaged students ages 16-26 with personal and career growth for almost 12 years. Our projects enable young people to explore their strengths, gain independence, pursue their career dreams and prepare them to successfully enter the job market. In almost 12 years,we have supported more than 1100 children, offered continuous support to many of our participants and established partnerships with all 142 orphanages. We wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to cooperate with a foreign organisation to learn something new, to get new ideas and know-how and to transfer them to the Czech environment. At the same time,in return we wanted to pass on our methodology to the project so that it could be scaled up in another country and also share our knowledge and experience in marketing and fundraising. We wanted to enrich our projects with new elements and practices which we did and we wanted to help a group of CZ and SK students with their personal and career growth. Our motivation was to help and support socially disadvantaged youth in need of comprehensive career counselling. We provided the participants with new knowledge and skills as well as motivation and introduced them to the reality.
