Objectives

In this first exchange, we wanted to shed light on an alternative form of beekeeping, agroforestry and Monetization of ecological Impact . The ultimate goal is a value creation chain based that incorporates ecology and incentivise, land owners and farmers.

Background

One of the main questions we ask ourselves was, how to give nature a value. The nature park in Alentejo is being sold out to multinational agriculture companies in order to create huge monoculture plantations. This profound change of landscape accelerates a downward spiral towards the inevitable loss of biodiversity and socio economic foundation. We want to bring together different experts in order to explore how afforestation, seed saving, beekeeping can boost biodiversity and combined with emission trade and new forms of digital value creation might help to fight recent developments and furthermore create a blueprint of a methodology that can be applied universally.
